  1. The Coventry Blitz is the name of a series of bombings that took place during the Second World War. Covetry was bommed several times during the War, but the most bombs were dropped on the evening and night of 14 november 1940. The Luftwaffe sent over 500 aircraft to drop over 500 tonnes of explosives and 900 incendiary bombs. In 10 hours of bombing, the city was almost completely destroyed, and many lives were lost.
